As you stroll along the banks of the charming, abundant Auvézère river, the Boissière d’Ans offers you beautiful sites to discover.

The former castle of the village was home to the lord who reigned over the entire castellany of Ans (18 villages).

At the Forge d’Ans, the stream « le Blâme » flows into the Auvézère river with a flourish of picturesque waterfalls. Here you can visit the building where ironmongers worked, leaving vestiges of antique blast-furnaces.

The Circle of Research of the Foundries of Ans, created in 1996, has taken on the task of bringing this prestigious metallurgic past, and the Cannons Road, to life.

The Brouillet castle dates from the 15th century. It belonged to Jeanne d’Albret, mother to Henry the 4th. There you can still plainly see the defence openings and the watch path thereof. While you are there, have a look at the church with its gate decorated with capitals and the Oratory Cross.
